Job Description:

Junyi School of Innovation in Taitung is currently seeking teachers for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Junyi is a K-12 experimental school with an expanding bilingual program located in Taitung City. Our salary is competitive and we offer paid vacations and an annual bonus. Our school has large grounds next to the Taiping River with facilities that include music and dance classrooms, a Bikefit center, on-campus boarding, two sport fields, a new auditorium and a large outdoor activity center. Our experimental curriculum includes courses in International Hospitality, Performing Arts, and Green Architecture and we have a strong Outdoor Education Program.

We are currently accepting applications for the following positions (beginning August 2023):


● Boarding Activity Coordinator. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching a reduced English schedule during the day and organizing and supervising activities in the boarding school in the evenings. Currently we have 200 boarders at school - Grade 7 to Grade 12. Boarding activities will be aimed at expanding our English / international learning environment. This position will require spending time in boarding in close contact with our students and the successful applicant will act as a mentor figure and positive role model for our boarding students. Previous boarding experience will also be a strong advantage.

● EAL teacher in the Junior and Senior High School Departments. The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching English as well as offering club activities in the afternoons. As we are building a strong Global Studies curriculum in the High School, the candidate's ability to offer a second teaching subject will be considered an asset.




The English proficiency of Junyi students varies widely. Some of our scholarship students are from local elementary schools and have had very limited opportunities to learn English. At the same time we attract students to our boarding program who have returned from overseas study. With such a range of English abilities among our students, successful candidates need to be able to engage and motivate inside the classroom and outside - and be comfortable offering differentiated instruction based on student needs.

Teachers who hold teaching licenses/credentials in their home country should apply. An ARC can be provided for these positions. Taiwan APRC and JFRV holders with a strong teaching background are also welcome to submit applications.
