Why Taiwan
Famous for: Open society, friendly people, safety, night markets, hiking, biking, hot springs, cold springs, fascinating history, unique cultural offerings, and much more
Lay of the land: The majority of Taiwan’s 23 million people (and all of our schools!) are located on the main island. The jagged Central Mountain Range separates the highly-urbanized west coast from small towns and beaches on the east coast. Taiwan’s climate ranges from sub-tropical to tropical, with warm, humid, and sometimes rainy weather throughout the year. Excellent transportation links connect every corner of Taiwan to its outlying islands and vacation destinations across East and Southeast Asia.
Languages: Mandarin is the lingua franca. Taiwanese, Hakka, and indigenous languages are also spoken here.

📌 You need to be from one of the following counties to teach English in Taiwan: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. However, some schools may still hire teachers who already have a long-term visa. This requirement only applies to teaching English - schools can still hire you for subjects other than English.

⏳ Due to the high number of applications the schools receive they may not be able to respond to every application. If you don't hear back from them within a week or so, it's best to move on to the next job.

⚠️ When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy anything which they then pay you back for later. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in TEFL are rampant, be careful!
