Wanted - Teachers for Spring 2025

Haven Christian School is a school that is “By the Lord and for the Lord.” 

We desire that our students live joyfully in the Lord. We aim to help our students discover their individual gifts and use them well by serving Jesus. 

Haven Christian School (www.haven.or.kr) is looking for a new teacher (Fluent in English) to start on March 1st, 2025. Haven Christian School operates with an English-based curriculum in addition to several core Korean classes. It is located in Gwacheon city, one of the best places to live in South Korea. 

Haven has been operating for 18 years and currently teaches approximately 260 students (1-12th grade) and 40 teachers and staff.  All of the teachers are dedicated Christians and most of the students are also born-again Christians. The school’s daily morning routine includes QT (quiet-time Bible study) and prayer.

Haven needs teachers with a missionary mindset who can teach English, Social Studies, or Science through a Biblical worldview. 

The school prefers teachers who have a subject-related major degree or teaching certificate. Previous teaching experience is not required but preferred. An undergraduate degree (BS, BA) from an accredited four-year university is also required. The school will provide the following:

1) 2.5 - 3.2 million won per month
2) Yearly Bonuses: 3 million won (semester bonus, holiday bonus)
 3) 6 - 8 weeks paid vacation a year (3-4 weeks in summer and 3-4 weeks in winter)
4) No school on national holidays, Teacher’s Day, Thanksgiving Day (US), Christmas break
 5) A single/couple apartment: housing deposit and rent will be provided; utilities will be paid by the individual teacher. 

6) 1/2 payment of the national health insurance and national pension, severance
7) M-F, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm working hours
8) 20-22 teaching hours a week
