Vacancy: Very Young Learners Director of Studies (VYL DoS)
Position:
Shane Education is currently seeking applicants for the position of Very Young Learners Director of Studies (VYL DoS) to join our academic team. The position will be based at the new Linkou Head Office (New Taipei City). Start date can be flexible.
Duties:
The main responsibilities will be to maintain teaching quality by observing, training and advising VYL teachers, and to act as direct Line Management of our HIA VYL school. Management of other teachers may also be necessary. The VYL DoS is also responsible for writing and editing curriculum and course materials, and supporting DTE and franchise schools. There will also be some overlapping work with the recruitment department. The VYL DoS is expected to teach when required, although this will usually only be as cover.
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of EFL teaching methodologies and practices (especially very young learners)
CELTA/TESOL / CELTYL/TYLEC or equivalent
At least 2 years’ teaching experience, including at least one year with Shane’s VYL program or similar experience
Strong inter-personal skills
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Computer literacy and competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and other basic computer software applications
Previous supervisory and teacher training experience (preferred, but not essential)

Salary and benefits:
Annual bonus (1 months’ salary)

Head Office hours are typically 9am-6pm, Monday-Friday
