Job Overview:
EMASI Nam Long offers purpose-built facilities and a dual-language program that integrates
the requirements of the Ministry of Education & Training (MOET) with the Cambridge International Curriculum Framework, emphasizing English, Mathematics, and Science.
As the Assistant Head of Elementary, you will play a vital role in supporting the Managing Director and Head of Elementary to oversee both the academic and administrative operations of the Elementary division. This position demands strong leadership, a deep understanding of elementary education, and experience in bilingual school environments.
This Position will start working from 1st August, 2025
Responsibilities & Duties:
• Lead the formulation of school development plans and policies specific to the Elementary School.
• Keep abreast of current developments in Elementary practice and advise the Head of Elementary and staff as appropriate.
• In partnership with the Head of Elementary and MD ensure that the school remains true to its vision, mission and aims.
• Lead assessment and curriculum initiatives and procedures in Elementary, including the gathering and analysis of assessment data and the tracking and reporting of student progress.
• Identify and develop opportunities for collaboration and transdisciplinary planning.
• Act as school liaison officer for external assessment schemes.
• Set up pastoral systems, monitor student progress/behavior/uniform.
• Liaise, as appropriate, with the SEN and Pastoral Coordinator and Subject Leads
concerning the progress of students.
• Contribute to proof-reading school reports.
• Deal with students and parents following incidents as described in the behaviour policy.
• Be the first point of contact between parents and staff in order to provide pastoral care for
children.
• Assist in the organisation of events: assemblies, graduation, opening ceremony, concerts,
productions, sports day, coffee mornings, open day, parents’ evenings etc.
• Assist in the creation of the school timetable.
• Lead the accreditation process with WASC and other agencies with regards to the Elementary School.
• Plan and identify on, and off-campus, CPD opportunities in line with the strategic goals of
the school.
• Be accountable for high standards of uniform and dress code amongst students and staff.
• Plan and contribute to school newsletters/updates to the school community.
• Meet regularly with the Vietnamese Head and Coordinators to collaboratively develop,
monitor and evaluate the Integrated Program.
• In collaboration with the Head of Elementary ensure that the school fulfils curriculum
requirements of MOET.
• Lead and oversee departmental meetings, setting agendas and reporting back to the MD and Head of Elementary.
• Assist in the school's student admissions process.
• Seek ways to develop student leadership and service opportunities.
• Lead and oversee curriculum meetings, setting agendas and reporting back to the Senior Leadership Team.
• Lead and mentor subject leaders and coordinators in the Elementary School.
• Any other duties as determined by the Managing Director after due consultation.
Qualifications:
A BA in Education and/or a BA in the chosen field with teaching certification, Master’s degree is a plus.
English proficiency from IELTS 7.0.
At least 4 years teaching experience.
