Roles and Responsibilities
The main function of the corporate English trainer role is to deliver customised training courses to a range of corporate clients, in both online and in-person training settings. Typical course objectives centre on developing trainees’ performance in their work settings. This is achieved through development activity focused on professional skills and language training, real work coaching and workshop facilitation.
Key deliverables are:
Deliver training to a high standard
• Deliver effective training activity to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded
• Provide individual feedback and coaching sessions to address gaps in trainee performance
• Analyse a range of trainee needs and respond with developmental solutions quickly and appropriately
• Provide regular and timely feedback on trainee performance
• Take part in regular trainer development activity
• Ensure trainee language and skills development is evidenced in assessment situations
• Co-deliver workshop content to a high standard, in conjunction with colleagues
Conduct ongoing assessment and related course admin in a timely manner
• Negotiate with trainees regularly to produce formative assessment reports
• Produce accurate and well-formatted formative reports for client review
• Produce accurate, well-formatted and needs-specific course plans to company and client standards
Taipei – The City
Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan and is located about 120 miles from Mainland China and 360 miles northeast of Hong Kong. The country has a population of over 23 million people, including Chinese, Taiwanese as well as nine distinct aboriginal groups. Mandarin is the primary language spoken in Taipei. The city is situated in the northern part of the island with 2.6 million inhabitants. It serves as Taiwan’s financial, cultural and governmental center.
Taipei has much to offer with its hilltop retreats, historical treasures and high-rise skyscrapers. Taipei 101 is, one of the Seven New Wonders of the World and the 11th tallest building on the planet. The National Palace Museum is also one of the region’s best museums and contains some of the most priceless relics in the world. Its extraordinary displays and ancient treasures are definitely worth a visit.
Basic Requirements
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in English language and/or corporate training
• Minimum of CEFR C2 English language proficiency
• Accredited TEFL/TESOL certification or relevant degree
• Experience with training materials design and development
• Sound knowledge of language teaching and corporate training methodologies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Professional in appearance, attitude and tone
• Excellent time management skills
• Fluent in MS Office and Google Workspace applications
• Excellent administrative and communication skills
• Ability to work independently to course delivery guidelines
