Job Description:

Position: English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher - Middle School

BASIS International School Shenzhen is seeking a dedicated and experienced English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher for Middle School for the 2026–27 academic year. This full-time position involves supporting students in acquiring English skills necessary for academic success and social integration within a rigorous international school environment.

Job Responsibilities:
- Teach ELL classes to middle school students, focusing on academic English, literacy skills, and social language interactions.
- Design and deliver engaging lessons in areas such as reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and creative writing.
- Develop individualized language support plans based on students' proficiency levels.
- Collaborate with subject and homeroom teachers to enhance English language proficiency across the curriculum.
- Identify students needing additional language support, implement targeted interventions, and document progress.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents about student progress.
- Contribute to school-wide literacy and language-support programs.
- Build strong relationships with students to support both academic growth and personal development.
- Participate in professional development, curriculum discussions, and collaborative planning.
- Support a positive school culture and contribute to the wider school community.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, TESOL, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience as a lead teacher.
- Strong background in teaching English as an additional/second language to middle school or secondary students.
- Ability to design effective ELL instruction and interventions.
- Experience collaborating with subject teachers to support language development.
- Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Commitment to high academic standards and supporting students in a rigorous setting.
- Team-oriented mindset and openness to feedback and professional learning.
- Eligibility to meet Chinese work visa requirements (degree, experience, background check, medical, and other documentation).

Salary & Benefits:
- Annual salary between approximately $55,000 and $65,000 USD, based on qualifications and experience.
