Full-time English Teacher in Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan
Come teach English in beautiful, snowy, quiet Hakodate!
Daibundo School has been providing English, French, and computer classes to the Hakodate community for over 50 years. We’re looking for a reliable, honest, and kind person to come teach English to our students.
As an English teacher at our school, you will mainly teach adult, university, and children's classes. You will also be responsible for proofreading and speech contest preparation as needed.
The different types of classes you will teach at Daibundo include:
- Conversation
- Reading
- Textbook
- Test prep

Hakodate is in southern Hokkaido, and is the only city in Hokkaido that is connected to Honshu via shinkansen.

1. Basic Information
School Name: Daibundo School (https://www.daibundoschool.jp)
Job Description: Teach adult classes, some children's classes, one or two university classes, proofreading and coaching for speech contests
School Location: 25-12 Honcho, Kitaya Building 3F, Hakodate, Hokkaido 040-0011
2. Conditions
Salary: 250,000 yen/month
Contract Term: 1 year (renewable)
Accommodation: Furnished apartment is 5 minutes' walk from school. Rent: 44,000 yen/month
Working Days & Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, up to 25 hours/week teaching and 10 hours/month administrative
Start Date: September 1, 2024
Holiday: Sunday, Monday
Paid Holiday: Summer 14 days, winter 7-10 days, Golden Week 7 days
3. Requirements
Educational Background: Graduated university (undergraduate)
Japanese Ability: Not required but preferred
Visa: Visa sponsorship is available
