Job Description:

Teach English in Taichung, Taiwan
Taichung, Taiwan
Posted by: Scott Moesker
Join our dynamic team of teachers from the United Kingdom, United States, Australia, South Africa, and Taiwan and make a lasting impact teaching English abroad! We are actively hiring native speakers to join us in July, August, or September 2025.
Meet Taichung!
Our schools are located in Taichung, Taiwan’s second-largest city. Taichung consistently ranks as one of Taiwan’s most livable cities and the city to which Taiwanese people most want to move. The birthplace of bubble tea has the best weather of Taiwan’s major cities and an ever-evolving food scene that includes some of Taiwan’s best night markets and the most Michelin Guide-awarded restaurants outside of the capital. Some of Taiwan’s most important cultural touch points, both old and new, are found in Taichung: the city’s famed Dajia Jenn Lann Temple is home to one of the world’s largest religious pilgrimages, and Taiwan’s top science and fine arts museums are located here. Nature buffs can explore Taiwan’s central mountain range, the Gaomei Wetlands, and the Guguan Hot Springs. For those looking for an oasis in the big city, Taichung is full of parks and quiet neighborhoods to explore.
Taichung boasts bus and rail connections in the city and to the rest of Taiwan, as well as a growing metro system within the city. Taichung is seamlessly connected to cities big and small on Taiwan’s west coast via the high-speed rail, putting both Taipei, the capital, and Kaohsiung, a harbor city and gateway to the beautiful beaches of Kenting, within about an hour’s journey. Taichung International Airport connects residents to Taiwan’s outlying islands and other destinations around the region.
Most importantly, Taichung’s cost of living is more reasonable than Taipei and competitive with other big cities in Taiwan. Whether you are looking for a nicer apartment, planning to travel more around Taiwan and the region, or looking to build your savings, living in Taichung may help make those goals more attainable while still experiencing life in the big city.

📌 You need to be from one of the following counties to teach English in Taiwan: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. However, some schools may still hire teachers who already have a long-term visa. This requirement only applies to teaching English - schools can still hire you for subjects other than English.

⏳ Due to the high number of applications the schools receive they may not be able to respond to every application. If you don't hear back from them within a week or so, it's best to move on to the next job.

⚠️ When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy anything which they then pay you back for later. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in TEFL are rampant, be careful!
