Active English School in Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture,
Japan is looking for an energetic, versatile and professional native
English teacher to begin working in the beginning of May, 2025.
Our school is small, friendly, and family-owned, with students ranging from 2 years old to those in their 70s. Working with us offers a unique opportunity to connect with students on a personal level while experiencing cultural exchange.
Nagano Prefecture is centrally located in Japan, offering excellent access to hiking, skiing or snowboarding, and hot springs. Shiojiri is a small, quiet city just 20 minutes from Matsumoto and about 2.5 hours by train from Tokyo and Kyoto. You can enjoy a fulfilling teaching experience, grow professionally, and immerse yourself in Japan’s unique culture and lifestyle while living and working here.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Five days a week with 2 consecutive days off and 4 weeks paid vacation per year
2. Salary: 240,000 - 260,000 yen per month (based on qualifications and experience).
- Certified or experienced: 250,000 yen.
- Over 2 years of teaching experience in Japan: 260,000 yen.
3. One-year contract completion bonus: 80,000 yen.
4. While the initial contract is for one year, we are seeking candidates interested in longer-term employment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Native speaker of English
2. Bachelor's degree
3. Valid driver's license (home country and international)
4. Trustworthy, flexible, and positive
5. Enjoy teaching a wide range of students from preschool to adults
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
1. TESL/TEFL/CELTA certificate or equivalent
2. Teaching experience (ESL preferred)
