The School of Foreign Languages at the South China University of Technology (SCUT) seeks to fill multiple positions starting September 2025 for the coming academic year.
English Language Teachers focusing on writing and academic speaking for science and engineering students, both postgraduates and doctoral students.
Assignments vary, but all require 16 classroom hours per week. Service duties (about two hours per week) may include One-on-one tutorials, participation in English Corner, or proofreading.
Minimum qualifications better include a MA degree and one years’ teaching experience. TESOL, TESL, or TEFL certificates are preferred. Candidates must be committed to teaching excellence, comfortable in classrooms where English is spoken as a foreign language, and sensitive to intercultural exchange.
Compensation is 9,000 CNY per month before tax for BA degree holders, 10,500 CNY per month before tax for MA degree holders. The university offers a furnished, on-campus apartment, reimburses foreign faculty for a proportion of airfare and visa fee, provides commercial health insurance. Candidates must obtain a work permit.
