Job Description:
Gimpo Foreign Language High School is a private co-ed boarding high school located in the city of Gimpo in Gyeonggi-do. The school opened in 2006 and offers a varied curriculum including English, Chinese, and Japanese language study.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic teacher to help educate our highly motivated students, who are working toward being accepted at Korea’s top universities. Students’ English speaking and writing abilities are generally at a higher level.
Contract Period: March 01, 2023 – February 29th, 2024
Qualifications for starting salary of 2.1 million won per month: Applicants must be a native English-speaker and must have a B.A. degree from an accredited institution and one or more of the following qualifications:
— Education, TESOL, Second Language Studies, Linguistics, English Literature, or English Language
— More than 100 hours of curriculum in TESOL/TEFL/CELTA, etc. English Education certificate holder
— Elementary or Secondary Teaching License holder
— High school teaching experience highly desired
Qualifications for starting salary of 2.2 million won per month: Applicants must be a native English-speaker and must be a Master’s Degree holder with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution related to Education, TESOL, or Second Language Studies
— Master’s Degree in Education, TESOL, Second Language Studies, Linguistics, English Literature, or English Language
— At least one year of experience at an accredited institution and one or more of the following qualifications:
— Education/TESOL/TEFL/Second Language Studies/English Literature/English Language/Linguistics related majors
— Elementary or Secondary Teaching License holder
— More than 100 hours of curriculum in TESOL/TEFL/CELTA, etc. English Education certificate holder
— High school teaching experience highly desired
Our school is looking for teachers already living in Korea. No overseas applications, please.
Working Hours: 8:00am- 4:30pm
Teaching Hours: not more than 22 classes (50-minute classes)
Teaching Level: High school students
Location: Wallgotmyeon area in Gimpo. The school has its own bus stop, which includes an intercity bus that goes to the Hongdae/Sinchon area of Seoul.
Housing: Your own school dormitory room will be provided (no off-campus housing provided). Cafeteria breakfasts and dinners are provided free of charge (lunches are paid for by the teacher).
Vacation: Two weeks of vacation. National Korean holidays are not included in the vacation days.
Severance: Equal to one month’s pay upon completion of contract.
