We have a few years of expansion planned, and this expansion is creating new positions. At the moment, the only position left to fill for the coming academic year is a grade 1 literacy position. The classes that you would teach are Reading Comprehension, Writing, Grammar, Oral Proficiency, and Phonics. There are between 1 to 3 listening classes from other grades that we would assign to fill out your schedule.
Yu-Jen is a school with a great reputation, a competetive pay structure (see below), excellent benefits, and a positive, professional team. We have paid winter and summer vacations, multiple health insurances (NHI, Labor Insurance, and a private insurance), a strong pension system, contract-completion bonuses, and multiple other benefits. The curriculum is clear and materials are provided to the teacher.
We are looking for energetic professional teachers. Character is as important as ability in our team. Teamwork is a baseline for us. Background checks and drug tests will need to be provided. An important criteria is that your English is native speaker level.
At the moment, our quota of work permits is full and none of our sponsored teachers are leaving, so we can only hire a permanent resident for this position.
Please note that American English is our standard. If you have a different accent, that is very welcome. But spelling, grammar, and certain enunciation standards need to be Americanized.
We have a newly improved 15 stage pay structure that rewards qualifications and certain types of previous experience. The pay for a university graduate with no experience starts at 60,000 NT$ monthly (78,000 with incentives), and once the top of the pay scale is reached (with all incentives), caps out at 115,500 NT$ monthly. These numbers are before tax and insurance deductions - and they are dependent on experience and qualifications. A contract completion bonus and a performance based bonus with a number of other smaller bonuses are available IN ADDITION to the above monthly pay structure too.
In the process of our present expansion, we hope to find teachers that will stay with us for a long time. We always start with single year contracts, but we do offer 3-year, 5-year, and longer contracts (with increased bonuses) to teachers who fit in well. At the moment, we have a number of teachers who have been with the school for decades.
