Job Description:

Native English-Speaking Non-Tenured Professors Needed at Cheongju University, Cheongju, Korea

We are currently looking for native English-speaking non-tenured professors who reside in Korea to teach credit conversation classes at Cheongju University, beginning March 1st, 2024.

Position Details

The contract requires that 12 credit class hours be taught (4 working days per week) and 2 office hours be held per week, with the opportunity to teach overtime credit (W25,000 per hour) and non-credit classes (between W30,000 - W40,000 per hour). The contract period is two years (renewable).

2.  Qualifications

-  Native English speaker

-  E-1/E-2 or F-visa holders who are currently in Korea are preferred

- Master’s degree and at least two years of full-time university/college teaching (or research) experience or a doctoral degree.

 - Currently residing in Korea

- Preferred Qualifications: English Language Teaching Certificates (e.g. TESOL/TEFL/TESL/CELTA/TKT)

3.  Salary

The annual base salary for 2023 is W36,905,830 before Korean tax (W3,075,480 per month).

4.  Benefits

 - Non-shared housing is provided by the university (the professor is responsible for paying all utilities).

 - Scans of documents verifying full-time work experience in university/college. In Korea these documents are called 재직증명서 (for a current position) 경력증명서 (for a previous position). Positions should be specified. Applicants who have previous career experience as a part-time lecturer, should state the number of weekly teaching hours on the certificate of employment/career.

 - Research/publications list, if applicable

 - A valid apostilled criminal check record

 Documents required for successful candidates:

 - An apostilled copy of degrees (B.A., M.A. and PhD.)

 - Sealed transcripts with grades

 - A recent health report

 - 3 passport size photos

※ Failure to provide relevant paperwork in a timely manner may be grounds to cease the application process.
