KINDERGARTEN
Our innovative early childhood program comprising Small World (1.5 year olds), nursery, pre-k and kindergarten is a laboratory of joy, discovery, and exploration. Children learn primarily through play, and our role as educators is to help foster a love of learning that young children will carry with them as they move upwards through school. Collaboration is woven into everything we do. Teams of English and Chinese teachers share two classes of students, collaborating to nurture their students’ social, emotional and academic growth. Teacher teams share responsibility for the curriculum and plan together daily. This intense collaboration is challenging as well as exciting: we’re always evolving, learning from each other and seeking to improve.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Support lead and associate teachers with academic activities both inside and outside the classroom
Support all students’ maturation and development, targeting support to address individual needs
Step in and back up any teaching activities when needed
Deeply connect with students, colleagues and parents to uphold a culture of welcome, safety and respect
Invoke a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to value being at school and feel part of a rigorous and joyful learning community
Inspire trust and confidence among parents and families
Participate actively in ongoing, intensive professional learning

ABOUT YOU

Student teaching or equivalent experience with children ages 1.5-5
1~2 year full time teaching experience
Profound commitment to ensuring and nurturing children’s wellbeing
Highly effective collaborator, eager to listen deeply, contribute to a team and achieve goals together
Dedication to learning and developing the craft of teaching
Very resourceful and adaptive, eager to embrace constant change, growth and learning
Bachelor’s degree; graduate degree in education or related field is ideal
Native Chinese speaker with professional fluency in English
