1. Location: Soongsil University, Seoul

2. Position Available: Around 47

 

3. Basic Qualification

a. A valid passport from one of the following native English-speaking countries; USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa

b. Teachers who are holding the following legal visas in Korea (F2, F4, F5, F6, E1, E2, C4)

c. Teachers who are holding a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year university of among the 7 native English-speaking countries mentioned above.

 

4. Required Qualification [* Pay Level by Qualification Condition]

󰋪 An instructor among the existing participating instructors of Soongsil University English camp who has been re-invited to the 2024 Winter English camp.

 

󰋪 Current domestic and international elementary, middle and high school teacher or university professor.

 

󰋪 English teaching experiences more than 2 years in verifiable educational institutions and has at least one of the following qualifications.

- Bachelor's or a higher degree from and accredited four-year university with majors related to English such as Education, TESOL, Second Language Studies etc.

   - Valid Elementary, Middle, or Secondary School Teacher’s License/Certificate

- Hold an English education certificate such as TESOL/TEFL/CELTA (min. of 100hrs of education).

5. Working Conditions

□ A Type: 4 weeks

a. Schedule

 ⦁ Training Session: 2 days [December 26th(Thur.) ~ December 27th(Fri.), 2024] * Mandatory

 ⦁ Camp: 18 days (January 2nd, 2025 ~ January 24th, 2025)

※ Due to the camp schedule, we will have a normal class on January 4th(Sat.).

b. Working Hours: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm (Mon. - Fri.)

c. Total Amount Received: differs depending on the Pay Level by Qualification Conditions.

  ⦁ A+ Level: Around KRW 4,150,000 (₩ 4,150,000)

  ⦁ A Level: Around KRW 3,850,000 (₩ 3,850,000)

※ The Total Amount Received mentioned above includes ‘the Evaluation Allowance’ and ‘the Participation Allowance for one level test’.

※※ Since the participation allowance for one level test is already included in the total amount received, participating in one of the level tests is mandatory. (*You can choose which date you would like to participate in after checking the level test schedule below.)

 d. Responsibility

  ⦁ Conduct classes (*Academic + Activity)

  ⦁ Correct student’s diary(grammar, spelling errors etc.) and write comments

  ⦁ Make Lesson Plan and Syllabus

  ⦁ Make Achievement Test Sheet (+ Corrections)

  ⦁ Write Evaluation Reports (+ Corrections)

  ※ Instructions and details will be provided during the training session and the camp.

 

□ B Type: 3 weeks

a. Schedule

 ⦁ Training Session: 2 days [December 26th(Thur.) ~ December 27th(Fri.), 2024] * Mandatory

 ⦁ Camp: 14 days (January 6th, 2025 ~ January 23rd, 2025)

b. Working Hours: 9:00 am - 3:30 pm (Mon. - Fri.)

c. Total Amount Received: differs depending on the Pay Level by Qualification Conditions.

  ⦁ A+ Level: Around KRW 2,930,000 (₩ 2,930,000)

  ⦁ A Level: Around KRW 2,770,000 (₩ 2,770,000)

⦁ Time: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

⦁ Pay: KRW 150,000 (₩ 150,000)

 

□ Option Ⅲ

⦁ Date: November 24th (Sun.)

⦁ Time: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

⦁ Pay: KRW 150,000 (₩ 150,000)

 

* The schedule is subject to change.

* You can participate in the level tests multiple times.

a. Elementary Students

b. Class size: Around 15 students

 

7. Required documents

a. Resume (* your recent picture must be attached / head-shot photo)

* Your resume needs to include your nationality, contact information, education/employment history.

b. Cover letter

c. Scanned copy of your passport information page

d. Scanned copy of Alien Registration Card (both front & back side)

e. Scanned copy of Certificate of last degree

f. Applicants needs submit a proof document of the qualification conditions that they are applicable.

※ Example: English teaching experiences more than 2 years in an educational institutions → Certificate of Working Experience

* If worked at 2 different places for each a year, you need to submit 2 certificates of working experience issued by each work place.

g. Copy of bank book (Only for selected applicants)

 

8. The process

a. Submit required documents via email only

  ⦁ Please indicate which camp you would like to join and also which level tests you are available to participate in as well

 ※ The class schedules of the 3 weeks camp and the 4 weeks camp clashes, so you can only participate in one of the camp programs.

b. Applicants selected for interview and teaching demonstration will be notified in due time

※ Interviews will be held through Zoom

11. Information about C-4 VISA holders

* For C-4 visa holders who is already residing in Korea *

⦁ Must check the period of stay mentioned on one’s visa and if needed, must go out of Korea to apply for another C-4 and re-enter Korea. In this case, one need to enter Korea by December 21st(Sat.).

 

* For C-4 visa holders who is currently residing abroad *

⦁ Must check with the Korean Consulate in one’s home country, on how much time it would take to apply for and receive the C-4 visa.

  ⦁ Must prepare the required documents for applying for the C-4 visa in time, and also need to be able to enter Korea by December 21st(Sat.).

If you are not from one of those countries, you can still teach English in most other countries. This requirement is specific to South Korea and school's can only issue visa's to teachers from those listed countries.
