Smartree is looking to hire a native English speaker for an elementary/middle school hagwon in Suwon. The start date is the last week of August 2025, with a 1-year contract. The salary, based on experience, starts at 2.2 with no experience and 2.3 with one year of experience. Salary negotiation is possible during or after an interview.
The working hours are M/W 1:30 - 7:00, T/TH 1:30 - 7:30, F 1:30 - 6:30, with no overtime. There are 5 classes per day, with prep time from 1:30 - 2:30 and 50-minute classes starting at 2:30, ending with a 10-minute break between classes. The students are mainly elementary (80%) and middle school (20%), covering beginner phonics to quite advanced speaking classes, focusing on working through books with the students.
The job offers 11 days of vacation plus red days off, 5 sick days, housing provided (5-minute walk from the academy), 50% medical insurance, 50% pension, and severance pay after completing one year. A one-way flight will be provided for candidates coming from abroad.
