Job Description:

Dong Gwang Elementary School, a private elementary school located in Geumcheon-gu, southern Seoul, is currently accepting applications for full-time teaching positions for the 2025-2026 academic year (March 2025 to Febrary 2026). We are seeking experienced and passionate teachers to join our English Department.

The school is conveniently situated 10-15 minutes from Geumcheon-gu Office Station (금천구청역) on Line 1, with a direct bus ride available via the Geumcheon 1 Town bus (usually operating in 5 minute intervals).

Job Description:

In this position, you will serve as an English teacher, responsible for three distinct types of classes:

 General English Class: Focus on teaching new vocabulary and grammar concepts, while helping students practice their speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
Listening Focused Class: Introduce new vocabulary from audio materials, guide students through listening to dialogues, and lead them in answering comprehension questions.
Reading Class: Introduce new vocabulary from the story, read the story with the students, and facilitate discussions about comprehension questions related to the story.

You will have a great deal of freedom in your own private classroom, as you will be the sole teacher without a co-teacher. This autonomy allows you to manage and stucture your lessons as you see fit. However, with this freedom comes added respnsibility. You will be responsible for creating teaching materials for an assigned grade level, assigning and grading homework, and assessing and grading tests. Additionally, you will track student progress, including homework and test scores, and write report cards for your students. Essentially, you will take on the role of a full subject teacher, managing all aspects of your students' academic experience.

Conditions and Benefits:

Working Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday
Teaching Hours: 24 classes per week (40-minute classes)
Level: Grade 1 - Grade 6
Class Size: 5 - 15 students per class
Salary: 3,200,000 won per month starting (housing allowance included)
Housing: no housing provided
Severance pay after one year
National Pension and National Health Insurance (50/50)
Vacation: 26 days of vacation + all public holidays
Camp: Mandatory summer and winter camps (4 weeks total) with additional pay

Requirements and Qualifications:

Must be a native English speaker currently residing in Korea
Must hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited university
Must have at least 2 years of previous teaching experience in Korea
Must have a clean national criminal record, accompanied by an Apostille or a certification from a Korean consulate
Must hold an E2 or F visa
Prefer someone with a teaching certificate (TEFL, TESOL, etc.)
Prefer someone with teaching experience in a private school
Medical check-up must be done prior to the start of the school year
