Job Description:

Teachers and Administrator Needed for the 2023-2024 School Year
At this time, we have several openings for individuals who will positively impact our students and school’s further development. We are looking for staff who are team players and enjoy being a part of a school community’s growth journey. The positions are as follows:

*Grade 1 Homeroom Teacher
*Grade 5 Mathematics and Science Teacher
*Curriculum Coordinator (K-12)
*English Teacher (6-12 - AP experience preferred)
*Social Studies Teacher (6-12 - AP experience preferred)
*Biology Teacher (6-12 - AP experience preferred)

Curriculum Coordinator Job Description
Purpose of Function:
Facilitate the curriculum review cycle for continuous enhancement of learning based on the ways in which courses are taught. Coach teachers on their instructional delivery to ensure that the needs of students are being met effectively.
Qualifications:
Education: A masters in educational leadership, curriculum and instruction, or a related field is preferred. This can be replaced with a bachelors and 3+ years of previous experience in a teaching and middle management capacity or related field experience.
Experience: 3+ years of teaching and middle management experience or related field experience

Key Responsibilities
ensuring that all child protection and safeguarding expectations are met
completing his/her role in emergency evacuations and other site safety needs
supporting and supervising school activities to ensure the safety of all students
collaborating with the Assistant Principal to create and update handbooks and policies related to academic affairs
developing and implementing procedures and timelines for the effective execution of the curriculum review cycle and tracking the progress in Rubicon Atlas
developing, disseminating, and providing professional development related to Understanding by Design (UbD) unit samples
ensuring that the UbD units in Rubicon Atlas are properly aligned to the 1) UbD planning approach, 2) school’s chosen standards and the 7 Cs Schoolwide Learning Outcomes and 3) approved assessment practices and frameworks
collaborating with the Heads of Department (English and First Program) to create and implement a K-12 vertical map and rubrics for writing to further support literacy
providing coaching and mentoring to teachers as needs arise and as recommended by the Assistant Principal and Principal
planning and executing staff professional development on best practices in instructional delivery • executing standard setting and moderation sessions with groups of teachers
serving as the Pre-AP Coordinator and collaborating with the Counselors and Assistant Principal to analyze the AP Potential data and make course selection determinations
collaborating with the Data Manager to collect, store, and evaluate academic-related data (e.g., unit assessments, Quarter 1 and 3 midterm exam grades, Semester 1 and 2 final exam grades, report card grades → transcripts, WIDA, CEFR, Lexile, NWEA MAP, PSAT, SAT, AP) and use this to make recommendations to teachers concerning instructional next steps
organizing and hosting parent nights in collaboration with the College Counselors
updating the course selection guide and ancillary documents as well as hosting transition sessions alongside members of the Administrative Leadership Team in Semester 2 of each school year to provide clarity to families and field questions before students make their selections
Other
attending and/or helping to plan/execute school and community events/tasks, including but not limited to, WASC Action Groups (leading the group related to teaching and learning), community gatherings, and afterhours activities and competitions
collaborating with the Data Manager, Assistant Principal, and Principal to create the staffing estimator by December of each academic year
updating the curriculum-based tasks in the NCAA portal as assigned by the College Counselors
creating and providing material to keep the Learning and Campus Life sections of the school website up-to-date
collaborating with the Administrative Leadership Team to create the school calendar for each upcoming school year
planning for and presenting at the Staff Orientation and the New Student Orientation at the beginning of each academic year

initiating and attending meetings with colleagues to plan units/lessons, share ideas, analyze data, and make decisions
updating gradebooks on PowerSchool (Middle and Upper School) on a biweekly basis with at least 2 grades per week; using communication books (Kindergarten and First Program) to update parents weekly
marking assignments and providing written feedback that is constructive and comprehensive, focusing on achievements as well as next steps in learning
analyzing and using assessment data to inform teaching and the curriculum to meet the learning needs of all subgroups
laying positive behavior foundations that support self-regulation and effective interactions with peers and adults
handling off-task behavior and misbehavior respectfully and helping students to get back on track, repair damage caused, and develop self-discipline to prevent similar problems in the future
helping to prepare applicable materials/aids for lesson support that engages students and meets the needs of all students
