Kindergarten Teacher - Sokcho
Hillside Collegiate (HCIS) Sokcho is seeking a dedicated and energetic Kindergarten Teacher for a 5-6 month contract in the beautiful coastal city of Sokcho, Gangwon-do, South Korea. This role is perfect for educators who are passionate about early childhood education and enjoy outdoor activities.
HCIS Sokcho is an accredited international school that follows an American curriculum, serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. The school is accredited by Accreditation International (Ai), the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA), and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools – Commissions on Elementary and Secondary Schools (MSA-CESS). Our students are well-prepared for further education in U.S. or Canadian secondary schools.
Sokcho is a scenic coastal city located about a 2-hour drive from Seoul, offering beautiful beaches, forest trails, and proximity to Seorak Mountain. It is ideal for those who love hiking, biking, and other outdoor pursuits, providing a peaceful yet modern lifestyle.
As a Kindergarten Teacher at HCIS Sokcho, you will be responsible for teaching small classes of 13-14 students aged 4-6, with the support of a Korean aide. The curriculum includes phonics, storytelling, theme classes, P.E., science, free play, and field trips. The school values hands-on learning and outdoor experiences in a supportive and collaborative environment.

- Role: Kindergarten Teacher (ages 4-6)
- Contract Type: Direct hire, fixed-term

- End Date: October 31, 2026 or November 30, 2026
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM (lunch 11:20–11:50 AM)
- Location: Sokcho, Gangwon-do, South Korea
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Eligible for an E-2 or F-series visa (F visa holders preferred)
- Passport from an approved English-speaking country (USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa)
- TEFL certificate or similar qualification (preferred)
- Interest in early childhood education
- Ability to teach phonics, storytelling, P.E., science, and support free play and field trips
- Ability to work collaboratively with a Korean aide teacher and school staff

Visa Information:
Candidates must be eligible for an E-2 (foreign language instructor) or F-series visa. Requirements for an E-2 visa include holding a passport from an approved English-speaking country, a bachelor's degree, and meeting health check requirements. F-series visa holders have more flexible employment options and may not require sponsorship.
