Year 5 Homeroom Teacher
Lamai International School (Koh Samui, Thailand)
Lamai International School is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate Year 5 Homeroom Teacher to join our growing international school community.
We are a small, family-oriented international school located on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, Thailand. At LIS, we believe that education should inspire curiosity, develop character, and empower students to make a positive difference in the world. Our approach combines the British Curriculum with inquiry-based learning, strong pastoral care, and a commitment to Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).
We are looking for a teacher who:
- Holds a Bachelor's Degree and a recognised teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, PGCEi, QTS, or equivalent)
- Has a minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and positive relationship-building skills
- Is passionate about creating engaging, student-centred learning experiences
- Believes in the importance of developing the whole child academically, socially, and emotionally
- Is enthusiastic about Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and helping students understand real-world issues through meaningful learning experiences
- Works collaboratively as part of a supportive team
- Is reflective, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional growth
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the British Curriculum
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
- Assessing student progress and providing regular feedback to students and families
- Working closely with colleagues to support school initiatives and student wellbeing
- Contributing to school events, projects, and the wider school community
- Integrating inquiry-based learning and sustainability concepts across the curriculum where appropriate
