SIE Central opened our doors to students last September for our first academic year. Since then, our learning community has doubled in size. What attracts families and educators to our growing academy is our distinctive offering of American educational standards and ethos, tailored specifically for learners in Seoul. Our accredited programs emphasize a holistic approach to education, where our teachers integrate Common Core-aligned curricula with an outlook focused on the social and emotional needs of our students.
We are excited to announce that we are seeking an Information Technology (IT) teacher for the 2023-24 Academic Year. We are looking for an experienced educator, someone passionate about information technology and eager to share their expertise with our learners.
𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
• Creating syllabi centered around computer literacy, digital citizenship, coding, and other technology-related concepts
• Instructing students, ranging from K-9, for designated IT classes
• Managing the day-to-day operation of the SIE Central computer lab while ensuring a safe and productive learning environment for students
𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
• 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐞: August/September 2023
• 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Seongdong-gu, Seoul
• 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
• 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: Over seven weeks of paid vacation split between summer, winter, and spring holidays
• 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲𝐬
• 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐲: Based on experience and qualifications, negotiable within a specified range
𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐦𝐮𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:
• Prior experience teaching or working with young learners, ideally in a classroom setting
• Experience with integrating technology in the classroom to enhance student learning and engagement
𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬:
• Teaching certification or a degree in a related field, such as Education, Computer Science, Design, or Digital Art
• Familiarity with programs designed to increase digital literacy in the classroom, such as Scratch, Tynker, CAD, Blender, Code.org, etc
• Knowledge of web development or programming languages, such as HTML, CSS, Java, Python, etc
